It would hv yo be reduced a lot for me to buy again since it
I used it as a normal scoop. It was a bit easier, but still difficult for me with my carpal tunnel. Still hurt to scoop out of the carton.

Thermal Icecream Scoop
As an avid Ice-cream eater I couldn't wait to share this scoop with my husband. The scoop may have needed additional time to acclimate to the indoor temp of our home, I don't know? But initially the scoop did not work like it was cutting butter. We needed to heat up the scoop-dipper part with a little warm water so that it would scoop the ice cream like butter from the container. Also my husband noted the the handle length was a little short for his size hand and the fins on the bottom of the handle were a little ruff to hold if you needed to apply any force to scoop. Looks pretty cool.

Doesn't Quite Work as Advertised
First used on a new carton of Trader Joe's chocolate ice cream that was frozen solid. Really had to use all of my strength just to scoop out enough shavings for a couple of small servings. The second attempt on a previously opened carton of Trader Joe's vanilla that wasn't frozen quite as solid went much smoother, allowing me to scoop full scoops. Still, for the price, I was expecting more. This ice cream scooper is comparable our simple plastic scooper, but costs considerably more. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it.
