USED IT TODAY
Used this skimmer for the first time today 05/06/12. Note: this is made in China so my hopes for "Made in America" were quickly eliminated. Putting it together was simple. However, the head off one of the cheap plastic blue screws broke off during assembly....use kid gloves when installing them & they should have added an extra one/two "just in-case". Otherwise, it took five minutes with a screwdriver (not included) to put together. I charged the battery overnight and used it on a 16 x 24 rectangular pool this morning. It worked great and was pretty cool to play with. The pontoons would go along the sides of the pool and pushed the tree debris right into the skimmer netting. Reverse with one engine was slow but not an issue to be of concern. My 5-year-old tried it also and the front bumper worked well so as to not create a concern about ripping the liner if you let your kids do it. If you're looking for a fun way to skim the pool, it was highly effective and I would recommend it. The 4-stars were a result of the cheap blue screws...nothing else.
