Not just a gimmick
Growing old and need some help with small print. Have a drawer full of good magnifying glasses, but this little device servers its purpose. Not cheap but it works well and the instructions (for once) are very clear. If you can afford it and need the help - go buy one!

A great help
I bought it for a friend abroad. She has macular degeneration and I was looking for something which would not have to be plugged because of the different outlets abroad, and also which would be reasonable to ship. I am sure she will use it to read books, the papers, notes from her doctors, adresses etc.. I only wish it would cover a larger space so you don't have to move it so often.

Digital Magnifier
To read a racing form it needs a larger viewing field. This would be great for normal reading (book, newspaper, etc.), but is limited for reading columns of numbers.
