A useful gadget in Florida!
This is a great device that should be in everyone's pocket. I've used it twice already during a surprise heavy downpour and it was very convenient. The only thing I don't like about it is that it is a challenge to collapse the umbrella back into its original form. Retracting the umbrella involves re-wrapping the material so that it fits exactly into your pocket with ripping it. Easier said than done.

Finally - an umbrella that fits in my pocket or handbag - no more carrying around a big bulky umbrella "just in case" - now I have an umbrella on me at all times - and how great for travel!

Nice small size but poor quality
I had a Sharper Image brand umbrella that was probably the same size when Sharper Image still had their stores and thought that this umbrella was of the same high quality. I was so wrong. Immediately after receiving the umbrella in the mail, I opened the umbrella but could not close the umbrella all the way because a spring fell out and the thin shaft buckled. I love that it is small but I chose not to exchange this umbrella for another one because, upon inspection, it is of flimsy construction. In a rainstorm with only mild wind blowing, I really doubt that the metal shaft would hold up.
