Love these clippers!

In short, save your money. To start off with, there is a small piece of cardboard that prevents the batteries from draining, so in order to make the light work one must first open the battery cover with a very small phillips screwdriver. There are 3 hearing aid sized batteries in a stack and the only way to get the cardboard out is to take the batteries out, take the cardboard out and replace the batteries. When I did this and replaced the cover, the screw wouldn't tighten. Moving on to the LED. The only way to turn it off is to close the lever handle onto the body. The handle is cheap plastic and it feels like it's going to break, especially the first time you try to close it. So anytime the clippers are open the light is on. The bulb protrudes out a few millimeters which obstructs the view of your nail, right where you are trying to cut. The light is more a hindrance than help as it casts a shadow over the end of your nail. But it does a great job of illuminating your cuticles. As a previous reviewer noted the blades are so close together unless you have very thin nails you'll struggle to get your nail in between them. The ability to rotate the blades is a plus, and the cut itself is clean and requires very little pressure... the only redeeming qualities of the clippers. Finally, the nail file is glued to a slot in the battery cover. In my case some of the glue ran onto the file. The file is so small it's almost useless, and because it doesn't fly out like on a traditional clipper there is no pick to use under your nails. To say I am very disappointed in this purchase would be an understatement.

These clippers came with the light not working. More importantly the height of the clipper is so small that you have to have very thin nails.

I would not recommend or buy!
If I could give this product 0 stars I would. It's so cheaply made and not ergonomic. I was so disappointed, I thought sharper image represents quality and unique products. Not anymore! Cheap, cheap junk.

I was sorry I ordered this item
I have arthritis in my hands and expected this item to help clip my finger and toe nails. It did not. The clipper opening is way too narrow for toenails and barely wide enough for fingernails, but not thumb.
