I wanted a little more accuracy in tracking my food and weight management. This allowed me to be certain weights for various meats and fruits and vegetables. My attitude was that if the scale is there in the kitchen as I am cooking, it forced me to weigh and enter the food into my smartphone. This product made that easy. The app works well with this scale. I also use this for coffee in order to get the perfect water to coffee ratio. I got tired of sipping a thin cup of coffee because of my guess work.
