Read the instructions
I just about had a coronary the first time I stepped on the scale because it read such a high number. Then I read the instructions...you have to step on, ignoring the first reading, step off and then step on again and wait for the reading to blink 3 times to register correctly. The difference was significant. I didn't think I'd have a need for the numbers to be projected on the wall...I can look down and see the numbers just fine. But my husband's feet are long enough that they cover that spot, so it is good that the numbers are also projected on the wall.

I would buy this product again
The product works well and it will weigh a large person. The wall projection makes it easier to read. When you are large, you can't see over your waistline to look at the number on the bottom of most scales and this scale eliminates that problem. The only problem we have is finding a place to put it that no one will trip over and still have enough room for the projection on the wall.

Good scale - bad color for light
This is a great scale - love the concept of the showing the weight on the wall. the light being red does not work that well -

Does NOT work - don't buy it.
I purchased this product with high expectations, it claims it good up to 550 lbs. So I assembled it, I currently weigh 420 lbs. I stepped on the stales, and the battery compartment under the scales popped open, and the batteries fell out. So I checked it again. Then scale housing is so flemsy, that the same thing happened again. So I'm totally disappointed, what a piece of junk. So I went to [...], and purchased a scale rated 440 lbs max. for about [$]. The cheaper scales work great. Don't waste your money on the Sharper Image 550 LOL lbs scale.
