GREAT purchase
Purchased this for my mother who has deteriorating eye sight due to macular degeneration. I was concerned she would have difficulty using it since tech gadgets often overwhelm her. It has been a snap. She loves being able to read material on her own again. I love it because it has helped her regain some independence. Negative - didn't work on her large TV and cord was too short anyway. Had to buy a smaller TV but that worked out fine as she now has a mini home office set up on a desk.

Macular Degeneration Aide
Got this for my dad with macular degeneration. He uses it every day to read his newspaper, which otherwise would be impossible. We are now getting a larger monitor for him so he can hopefully continue with this. He has had it for a couple of years now. We are so thankful for this product.

Super bargain that works as advertised!
My father has macular degeneration and his quality of life has gone down. This reader is an absolutely amazing bargain at Sharper Image's price. While most other readers are more sophisticated and easier to use, they also cost a minimum of $3,000., and most seniors cannot afford that. It's easy to install, easy to use, and intuitively functional. My father loves it!

Great idea but...
This is a great idea but the cord that connects the magnifier to the TV is too short! The cord needs to be at least twice as long. When the magnifier is connected to the TV you are sitting much too close to the TV. On the plus side, it does what it advertises; magnifies the print it is put over and the print is displyed on the TV. It is quick to put together and be user ready.
