If you are anything like me, and you've been going back and forth about this product for years, just stop thinking about it and pull the trigger. Be patient, take the thin sections they recommend, comb through them thoroughly—if you can use a curling iron or flat iron, I have faith that you can use this. You're not going to mess up your hair. It seems utterly impossible to do so. You will have to be a little patient. It took me about an hour to do a really thorough job. But it's worth it. My hair feels like silk. I'm not sure how 1/4" made that much difference, but it's jaw dropping how much better it looks and feels. So easy. It pays for itself in two uses. So just do it. This is the best price I've seen for it as well, and you can use coupons, which blew my mind. The packaging on this item is great, too. It has a carrying case, which I like. It's cordless, so that's a bonus. This thing is worth it. Seriously…just get it. You'll love it.

During the pandemic this thing is fantastic. It really did eliminate most of my split ends. I did have to go over the sections of hair 3 or 4 times but my hair feels so much better.

The product was pretty cool, it did take off a lot of my split ends and didn't cut them long at all which had its advantage because I did have to go over my hair about four times to see a difference. I do have very thick hair and I do use the flat iron quite a lot and did have a good amount of split ends. The other advantage was that it immediately left my hair smooth. I was also sent the actual Split Ender instead of a Sharper Image version, got at a fraction of the price I would have through SE website.

I just received this and used it today. It's great. I did 5 passes. Because my hair hasn't been cut, it's thick, and the coved19 situation, I did an extra 2. I'm hoping there is help for getting the blade replaced at some points so I can continue to use this without buying a new one. I'm definitely going to save money every other visit at the hairdresser using this and being able to go without a cut thanks to this. Smaller sections is the key.

I bought this to use on my daughter's thin, fine, and easily broken hair. After one use, her hair looks healthy and is easy to brush through with very little snags on the ends of her hair. The only caution I would give is paying attention to the direction the trimmer is being used. If I use it on my daughter, the direction is always the same. If I use it on myself, I have to change the direction on the trimmer depending which side of my head of hair I am trimming. Being mindful of the direction change is important, but not impossible.
