This item completes my desk furnishings.
This messaging system.. is easy to read in daytime and beautiful at night. It's a real Focal Point on my desk, and is very interesting to watch. I do wish.. I could program all my family and friends Birthdays into it to use as reminders. I'm glad Sharper Image finds these types of accessories, and I'd recommend this item for all the people that already have everything!

Modifications
My friend purchased one about ten years ago and there seems to be no technological changes other than internet connectivity. 1. Needs an on-off switch. 2. Needs a higher frequency rate to minimize the blinking effect. 3. Needs a brightness level controller. I am an eye doctor and I assure you, not all people have the same visual experience. Many people see bright red LEDs blurry, even with best glasses prescription due to the human eye's inherent chromatic aberration. The ability to change the color and brightness of the LEDs would be a vast improvement.
