Excellent Gift
I purchased this item for my brother-in-law for his 50th birthday, who also works for the Washington Post. He absolutely loved the gift, along with his wife and friends. He is a great guy and I wanted to get him something unique. This was the perfect gift.

Great birthday gift!
This was a great birthday gift! Unfortunately, I had to return it because the spine was damaged and the recipient prefers New York Times and I found a New York Times personalized birthday gift on another website. Sharper Image should sell the New York Times version.

The book is a wonderful keepsake for the recipient as well as the next generation. It not only provides a snapshot of newspaper headlines on the birth date of the individual for every year of their life it also includes a blank page where the individual can record their "life's headlines" including the stories, pictures and dates that make them like no other. Whether the personal history is done by the individual or with the family as a project the gift becomes more meaningful as each year reveals previously untold stories, faded photographs, and a good old fashion legend or two. Truly a beautiful gift.

Nice gift idea
This really makes a nice, unique gift for a special birthday. One of the only downsides to this product is that the print is rather small. If you are giving this to someone who may have poor eyesight, picking up a page magnifier may not be a bad idea. The pros outweigh this one con I see with the book as a trip down memory lane is priceless.

this is very cool!
I really liked this item and it's a great "big birthday" gift. My issue is that in the earlier years the reproduction of the newspaper front page is not great. It gets better as you get in to the 2000's.

Fun interesting gift!
I was nervous to purchase this because of the mixed reviews regarding the quality of the printed text. But the book I received was easy to read and clear all throughout. Perhaps, if there was a printing issue it has been fixed. I recommend this as a unique gift for the history buff that does not need anything!

Very Frustrating Experience
I started ordering this on Oct. 4th for a Nov. 8th birthday. For 2 weeks, the personalization feature didn't work. I was told everyday, it would be fixed by the next day. Took over 2 weeks to finally get this order in. I was told I would have it in 7 to 10 days. I called on the 24th to get a status.....still with the vendor. This went on for another 6 days. I finally spoke to Amy, the supervisor and she was able to get this shipped! Again, much too frustrating for any customer to have to go through. Sharper Image needs to get better vendors. On the good side, I was very pleased with the end result.
