Seriously cool product!
Both the idea and the execution of this product are pretty flawless. I use this multiple times a week on my way to work and it makes a quality cup of coffee. Super easy to use and takes just a few minutes to heat up and brew your coffee. Don't hesitate if you're thinking about it!

Coffee Anytime
I travel often for work all over the city so I spend a lot of time in my car. This coffee brewing mug is awesome because in the morning I can just brew a cup on my way to my destination and not have to wait in long lines at coffee shops. I can have a coffee whenever I want. It is also great for weekend camping trips.

A coffeehalic's savior
I can have coffee whenever I want. I am a resident in a Veteran's home, so we aren't allowed to have our own plug in type coffee maker. This brewing mug fills the void.

More of a water warmer than a coffee brewer.
I received my mug and a supply of coffee.... Here is my review. The coffee was supposed to be 2 boxes of different roasts/blends. The boxes were not marked as to the content in each box so I have no idea which one is which blend. There was no labeling or manuals at all. No safety warnings, no warrenty info, no battery specs, nothing. Just a QR code that you need to use a smart phone on to see a video on how to use it. The charger is a large wall plug. I wiped off the battery and plugged it in to charge. I cleaned the inside of the mug, the cover and mesh filter. Once the battery was charged I proceeded to brew my first cup. First the good news. I was able to put a measured 10 oz of water in. I did this by putting the filter in first then slowly poured 9 oz of the water in. I took the filter out, put the pod in the filter, then slowly put the filter back in. I put the cover back on and poured the last 1 oz in through the opening. I closed it up and put the battery on. I pressed the button twice for the hottest setting, the red light. Just a note here, you press the button once for 140 degrees and twice for 160. Now for the bad. I let it go for 6 min. (Instruction video says only 4 min are needed) After 6 min the light was still on so I guess it was still heating. I pushed the button to turn it off and opened it up. I used an IR temp gun to see what the surface temp of the water was.. It was 95.6 degrees. Not a good sign. I took the filter out and used a calibrated thermometer to read the water temp at its hottest point. It was 126.1 degrees. Not the 160 it was supposed to be. Not even the 140 the lowest setting is labeled for. Hey Joe heard about my experience and they sent me a new upgraded "2.0" battery. This second battery Got the temp to 140.9 degrees. Still not the 160 it is advertised for, but better. I did multiple tests and it was consistently 139-141 degrees. The increase in temp did not change the coffee taste though. So, how was the luke warm coffee you ask... Bitter, and a little slimy in consistency. Instant coffee is better than this. Most of the hotel coffee I have had was better than what this created. Oh well. I guess since it wasn't the worst I've ever had it's not a complete failure. *shrug* In the end I do not feel it is a product worth buying. Sorry.

Convenient: Yes, Good Tasting Coffee: No
I have used the product to make three cycles of coffee. The resulting coffee tastes awful to me. I hesitate to call the process brewing coffee because it does not involve any components of how coffee is made. The cycle starts with Submerging the coffee pod in cold water. This would be similar to a cold brewing process except the next step is to heat the water around the coffee to either 140 or 160 degrees. The convenient aspect to these temperatures is that you can drink the coffee after this step in the process. The drawback to the process is that the coffee is under extracted with a flavor profile that is flat and consistently below that of instant coffee. It may be due to the fact that you leave the pod in the warm water while drinking. I live in Seattle, land of coffee. I have asked a people in the business and they confirmed that it is not possible to get a good flavor profile at the low temperatures this coffee mug is able to produce. Because of this I now exclusively use the process to make tea. I steep the leaves in cold water but do not notice the flat flavor profile like coffee. I have also tried waiting to add the coffee once the water is heated and the flavor profile was still bad. The convenience is good but limited by the fact that there is no ability to use the mug while charging the battery. In order to charge the battery you remove it from the mug and pug the charger into the battery leaving no power left to use the device. In my opinion waiting for a more functional brewing method is more important than the promise of convenience that this mug carries.
